Damien Martyn says Australia are totally focused on the one-day series against England and Bangladesh.
The batsman hit 85 in Australia's 95-run win over Leicestershire, as they smashed 321-4.
"We really want to do well in the one-day games. We are number one in the world and want to keep it that way," Martyn said.
England and Australia play a Twenty20 game on Monday before the NatWest Series starts on Thursday.
Martyn added: "Time in the middle is crucial to us at this stage of the tour and although Adam Gilchrist (17) and Ricky Ponting (7) missed out, they are the sort of guys who will have plenty of chances to make runs.
"The object is to build up slowly leading into the one-day series which is very important to us.
"Everyone is talking about the Ashes series but at the moment, it is the one-day games that are our main focus. We really want to do well in those matches.
"It is going to be more difficult to gauge things in the Twenty20 because it is very new for us and we are still trying to come to grips with it. I faced about three balls in Twenty20.
"It is a new concept and we have not really spoken about it yet. But we are really looking forward to the game against England on Monday."
